If you’re investing in exhibiting at an event, the people you meet - your new sales leads - justify your presence on-site. But, managing leads effectively, especially during the busy hours on the show floor, can be a challenge. The booth gets crowded, and attendees don’t have business cards on hand; before you know it, the show is over and you're stuck with an array of notes, pictures of badges, and confusion. Organizing and following up on new prospects can be a huge chore and we can’t always remember who we met, what we talked about, and what the next steps are. This is where LeadPod™ comes into play.

API: The Unsung Matchmaker of your Favorite Technologies

Posted by David Patricola

Most people in today's day and age are familiar with the newest, most popular technologies. Although we are living in a technology world, not many individuals are familiar with the term "API". At Expo Logic, we like to think of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) as matchmakers. They help connect technologies and provide translation when the languages are different. For example, when you cut and paste from Microsoft Word into Microsoft Excel, it’s completely seamless to the user. But, behind the scenes, there’s an API making that transition possible. Or, how about when you’re looking for nearby restaurants and Yelp suggestions show up on a Google Map? That relationship between Yelp and Google is possible because of an API. Even buying movie tickets online utilizes an API to link ticket selection to credit card verification. When you think about it, it’s amazing how prolific APIs truly are.

Your event takes place in a venue - or multiple venues - with thousands of moving parts and a team of people who help make it possible. Your physical event is an experience that takes several months to plan and a great deal of effort to carry off without a hitch. Most likely, the purpose of your role is to make sure your event is a success. But, your event doesn’t just happen in the tangible space you can touch and feel. It also takes place in the sphere of the internet - through various hubs of social media - and your virtual event can often be as important as your physical event. That’s because, what happens online is one of the most influential and engaging ways to ensure the success and sustainability of your event overall.
