Events are Better with Barcodes

Posted by Lauren Zirkelbach

Sep 15, 2016 8:50:14 AM

Barcodes are becoming a part of everyday life. We use them at the grocery store, at the airport, and even to check into the movie theater. Technology has made it possible for particular patterns of lines or squares - aka barcodes - to contain everything from demographic information to today’s price on organic tomatoes. Because of their simplicity and efficiency, barcodes are being used in a variety of contexts. In the event world, you’ll see barcodes included on everything from check-in to lead management. And, it doesn’t look as though they’ll be going away anytime soon.

API: The Unsung Matchmaker of your Favorite Technologies

Posted by David Patricola

Jun 30, 2016 9:10:07 AM

Most people in today's day and age are familiar with the newest, most popular technologies. Although we are living in a technology world, not many individuals are familiar with the term "API". At Expo Logic, we like to think of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) as matchmakers. They help connect technologies and provide translation when the languages are different. For example, when you cut and paste from Microsoft Word into Microsoft Excel, it’s completely seamless to the user. But, behind the scenes, there’s an API making that transition possible. Or, how about when you’re looking for nearby restaurants and Yelp suggestions show up on a Google Map? That relationship between Yelp and Google is possible because of an API. Even buying movie tickets online utilizes an API to link ticket selection to credit card verification. When you think about it, it’s amazing how prolific APIs truly are.

Exhibiting at a conference, convention, or trade event is a big investment. Not only are there the booth fees to account for, but exhibitors also have items such as utilities, décor, staff time and travel, and so much more. At the end of the day, the event is all about the return on investment. You want to make sure you’re getting enough value out exhibiting to justify the expense of resources. To ensure you’re getting the most out of your exhibiting experience, and invest in raising the sales and profile of your company, we recommend following the example of industry professionals who have made the effort of exhibiting into an art form.
